This adventurous couple love waterfalls, jungle and anything off the beaten track. They contacted me with their hearts set on hiking into the Tenorio Volcano National Park and getting married by the Rio Celeste waterfall. My first thought was AWESOME! My second thought was WHAT!? That’s Crazy! Well anybody that knows me, also knows that I am up for an adventure… Rio Celeste means “Light Blue River”, and the water is literally turquoise, some say it is due to a chemical reaction between sulphur and calcium carbonate in the rocks, other say due to magic. The wedding party were staying at the beautiful Nayara  near Costa Rica’s famous Arenal Volcano. From there we drove to the Tenorio Volcano National Park and met a local guide. The hike down to the Rio Celeste is about an hour through beautiful rainforest, we stopped along the way doing parts of the ceremony on route and ending with the exchange of rings at the main river and waterfall. After the wedding and adventure at Rio Celeste we returned to the fantastic Nayara Hotel for the reception dinner. The dinner was held at Nayara’s Latin Fusion Bar, a funky colorful restaurant which complimented the tropical colors of the table decorations and flowers. After dinner the party started with a local music group and dancing. What a spectacular day, so glad that we did it, here’s to the bride and groom, you are awesome!!
